Teignmouth Community School were thrilled to support Jack Carden and Tom Cairns, recent alumni of the school, in their fundraising campaign to enable them to represent England in the World Rugby Youth Tournament being held in Japan this Spring. Both boys attend Exeter College Rugby Academy and have been chosen by the RFU to represent England schools and colleges.
The boys former secondary school held a Christmas jumper day in December and donated £448.00 towards the trip. James O’Connell, Principal at the school, said :“We are really proud of both boys – for their commitment, drive and the way they present themselves, as well as their outstanding sportsmanship. They are fantastic ambassadors for our school and we wish them every success in this life changing opportunity and their future careers.”
Jack and Tom set off to Japan at the end of April and will play teams from across the world including Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.
