World Book Day is fast approaching! Before half term pupils will be given their £1 book token which can be redeemed at participating retailers WH Smiths, Asda, Sainsbury, Waterstones and the Works between the 15th of February and the 31st of March 2024. The tokens can be exchanged for a £1 book in the World Book Day special range (see below) or to take £1 off a more expensive one.
We don’t want any of our students to miss out, which is why we are handing out the tokens early!
For World Book Day on Thursday 7 March, we would like to invite all students to participate in a Book Bake Off Competition.
The challenge is to bake a cake or series of cupcakes to represent any book or to promote reading in general.
The cakes will need to be brought to the Auditorium before school on Thursday 7 March. The cakes will then be judged by Staff during Period 1 and 2 so that the cakes can be sold to raise money for a charity of the bakers’ choice during Break 1 and 2.
There will be prizes for the most creative, the wackiest and the most delicious!
Entry forms can be collected from Tutors and the Library.
Which book will inspire you?

Most just require an e-mail but, if you are feeling artistic, you could have a go at entering the ‘Design a National Book Tokens Gift card’.
