A huge congratulations to our Year 9 pupil Ellie and Alexia Year 7, who were given the opportunity to attend Twickenham stadium and be part of the guard of honour prior to the Tiktok Women’s Six Nations match! Ellie and Alexia are players for Newton Abbot RFC U14 girls squad, and were thrilled to be able to share the experience with a few of their fellow teammates, as well as girls from the U12G squad.
The England Women Red Roses vs. France Women was a grand slam deciding match, and it was a record-breaking crowd for a women’s rugby match of 58,498! Sugababes also performed at halftime and England went on to win 38-32.
Not only were the girls given the opportunity to play a demonstration tag match against their local rivals Sidmouth RFC on the home of English rugby, but they were also able to use the changing rooms and walk out through the tunnel.
After a short break they went back on the pitch holding flags, as the players ran out and lined up for the national anthems!
