Recent Ten Tors training walks have truly demonstrated the two faces of Dartmoor to our teams as they have experienced glorious sunshine and warm temperatures one week, only to be followed by fog, a biting wind and bitter cold the next. Students have been introduced to the northern moor – especially the areas in the vicinity of Okehampton where the Ten Tors event starts and finishes in early May – which has much of the most challenging terrain on Dartmoor.
Skills in navigation, leadership, teamwork and resilience continue to be honed; physical fitness, stamina and confidence will also develop as the routes increase in distance and difficulty.
Many thanks to the staff that give up so much of their time to provide this opportunity for our students; 2020 promises to be another successful Ten Tors event for TCS.
