The largest climate protest in history rallied millions of people to the streets of towns and cities across the Globe on Friday; striking from work, schools and universities. But students and teachers at Teignmouth Community School made their voices heard from within the school grounds.
Before school, dozens of students could be seen outside the school gates waving homemade placards and chanting for climate justice. By lunchtime, the crowd had swelled substantially as it marched around the school accompanied by drums and tambourines. The rallying cries of students’ voices could be heard chanting “Solutions not pollution” and “Climate justice now!”
Will this tidal wave of social pressure be enough to push the governments of the world into further action on climate change? We will have to keep chanting and see.
