On Tuesday 4th February, around 300 children from the local primary schools came to Teignmouth Community School and took part in two gymnastics festivals.
The first was held for Year 3/4 children and the second for Year 5/6. There were 12 different stations focusing on different areas of gymnastics including rolling, vaulting, jumping, balancing and even trampolining. The event was run by Year 7 leaders, who had a long day but were enthusiastic and engaging all the way through.
The event was designed to introduce key skills to take back to lessons and to underpin the routines pupils will be showing in the tournament later in the term. It was great to see so many children simultaneously taking part and some great gymnastic skills were on display.
