Last week, Year 10 art and photography students from Teignmouth Community School and Dawlish College enjoyed a brilliant collaborative trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall.
The cross-trust visit gave students the perfect opportunity to work with primary sources, drawing and photographing diverse natural forms to support their curriculum projects. Together, they explored the enormous indoor Rainforest Biome—journeying through the humid tropics from Southeast Asia and West Africa to South America—before immersing themselves in the sights and scents of the Mediterranean, California, South Africa, and Western Australia. The day concluded with a walk through the outdoor gardens, beautifully reclaimed from a former clay mine.
It was an excellent experience for everyone involved, offering a fantastic opportunity for the students to collaborate and for staff to continue developing and planning as a cohesive team across both schools. Thank you to the Eden Project for having us, we will be there next year.
